My fellow Canadians – as Diefenbaker used to say with a waggling and joggling of jowls! Here is something Canadian of which we can all be very proud!
Last night, April 16, 2009, I had the privilege, thrill and great fun of going to see The Andersen Project written and directed by our own Canadian Robert Lepage and performed by our own Yves Jacques at the Piccolo Teatro Strehler. Mostly in English with some French and subtitles in Italian. It was utterly brilliant and I don’t recall ever laughing harder in a theatre than I did last night. The 2 hour performance by Yves Jacque is riveting, the pace is rapid, the monologue utterly brilliant, the comedy hilarious and the high tech effects were exactly that – highly effective! Any adjectives to describe the show can only be positive and in the superlative - everything was issimo! Lepage is an absolute master and his play leaves you with a smile in your eyes and on your lips and a giggle coming up from the depths long after the show is over – which means that the show is not really over, doesn’t it!
You do not want to miss this show!
Do try to make it to the Piccolo Teatro for an exhilarating evening in a beautiful theatre. You will never regret but will treasure those moments! I can’t wait for the next time he comes to Milan.
